Presentations
"Celebrating
Nature & Wildlife"
This is a
slide show that brings together Ligia's first seven years in
nature photography. It consists of 14 segments beautifully
coordinated to music. Total length: 45 minutes.
Approximately two thirds of the 600 + images come from
scanned slides and one third from digital captures.
First
presented at the New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) Annual
Conference in Amherst, MA in July, 2006 where the show
received three standing ovations. Several other
presentations have followed, including one at the September 2007,
Photographic Society of America (PSA) Annual Conference in
Tucson, AZ where Ligia was one of three speakers
featuring Frans Lanting and George Lepp as the other two.
Once again, the show received an standing ovation.

I will be happy to tell you
how it went. LIGIA WAS THE STAR OF THE ENTIRE EVENT!! This
is a conference that draws over 1100 photographers every
July. Ligia's presentation was just amazing and everyone
told others "Do NOT miss this program. It will knock your
socks off!"
Indeed it did. Her photography is just wonderful as is her
presence. If you have an opportunity to view her work
anywhere don't miss it. Many attendees went out of their way
to see her program more than once.
Congrats to you, Ligia!! What a talent!!!

It’s not often that
things turn out this way. I had been eagerly anticipating
viewing Ligia’s multimedia show, “Celebrating Nature and
Wildlife” since I had heard so many people calling it the
best they had seen at the NECCC conference last July. I was
not disappointed, as a matter of fact, I was mesmerized by
it. As some-one who is new to “nature” photography, I was
able to appreciate the skills necessary to capture the many
birds in flight, even puffins. If you have never tried to
photograph a puffin in flight before, bring
A LOT
of
film!! Good luck if you can even find them through your
viewfinder! Better make sure your memory card is
BIG.
The audience was treated to a delightful smorgasbord of
birds and beasts. She had images of moose with expressions I
have never seen before. I swear one was laughing. From
Alaska to Namibia, to Maine and Newfoundland, and points in
between, her landscapes wowed us! You can tell that Ligia
truly loves what she does; you can feel it in her imagery.
Many thanks to Ligia for coming from so far to share her
love of photography. Great show, definitely worth waiting
for!!!!

presentation at this Club:
I have
never seen folks stay that long after a presentation and ask
that many questions. Usually, there are only a few questions
and everyone books it out so fast. You had them eating out
of your hand!
Thanks for
a great show!

Newsletter, Seattle Photographic Society. From the President after the
presentation at the PSA
Conference:
I had the recent pleasure of attending my first
Photographic Society of America (PSA) Conference in Tucson,
September 2-8. There were some interesting guest speakers
including George Lepp and two very inspiring presenters,
Frans Lanting and Ligia Dovale-Kiamco who were excellent. If
you ever get a chance to see Ligia’s presentation you won’t
be disappointed. She may not be a house-hold name in
photography yet, but once you see her you will agree her
photography and presentation is the best. |
